Barks 'N Crafts: There are always new projects available, so make sure you stop by and check things out! What camp experience wouldn't be complete without a plaster paw print or a homemade doggy bed? There will be projects available all day except during "All Camp Activities." Barks 'n Crafts will be open from 9am-7pm.

top of page

Bonfire with S’mores: Join us Saturday and Sunday night at 9PM for a fun gathering around the bonfire. S’mores will be provided but you must come prepared with campfire songs and ghost stories to share with friends!

Household Hazards: In this seminar learn about how hazardous chemicals from cleaning products to plants, and even cosmetic makeup can be toxic to your pets and family. Find out which products are safe and which you should never use. Many cleaning products settle one foot off the floor, right at the level of air space where your dog is breathing. This can cause respiratory issues, allergy flare ups and other problems. Many natural products are on the market today so join Katie Wilke, Manager of Central Bark North (www.centralbarkusa.com) to find out which ones work and which ones you should leave on the store shelf.

Hiking on the Ice Age Trail
Hike with trail guide Laura Tuttle, General Manager of Harmony Pet Care (www.harmonypet.com), to see plenty of beautiful Wisconsin scenery on the Ice Age Trail. This particular section of the Ice Age Trail includes a small stream and many photo opportunities. To get to the trail you will drive less than 10 minutes and leave right after breakfast on Sunday. Plan to bring water along with you.

Lure Coursing:
Lure Coursing is an exciting speed sport where a dog chases the lure around a course. The excitement is one of the reasons lure coursing is the focus of such contagious enthusiasm and at camp the courses are designed for all breeds of dogs. It definitely is a favorite for most of the dogs that come to camp. Join Ed Muraczewski (www.forpetssake.cc) in this enthusiastic event!

top of page

Pet Trick Contest:
Does your pet have a favorite trick that he does or that you do? Come and share your trick with the rest of camp and you may win first, second or third prize. Prizes are awarded based on votes by the audience and participants. Originality and creativity are encouraged, and remember; sometimes it's not the trick itself but the delivery that makes it a success! If you are planning to participate in this competition, please register at the Camp Office by noon on Saturday so we can include you and your dog on the ballot.

Power Lounging:
Grab your lawn chair and book or journal and relax for a bit. Rally (Beginning AKC/APDT): A sport in which the dog and handler complete a course that has been designed by the judge. Join Tammie Riepe to learn at your own pace, how to follow through the courses stations. At each station you will be provided instructions for the skill that is to be performed. Handlers are encouraged to use verbal praise, petting and even food rewards. Scoring is not as rigorous as traditional obedience. You can go out and some fun with your dog’s obedience commands. Both AKC and APDT rules will be reviewed.

top of page

Rally-O: Rally is a sport in which the dog and handler complete a course that has been designed by the judge. The judge tells the handler to begin, and the dog and handler proceed at their own pace through a course of designated stations (10 - 20, depending on
the level). Each of these stations has a sign providing instructions regarding the next skill that is to be performed. Join Mary Anne Coutley (www.forpetssake.cc) and learn about this fun spin on traditional obedience!

top of page

Scootering: A fun way for your dog to pull you on a push scooter. It’s a great way to get your dogs muscles moving. Scooters will be available for small rental fee unless you plan to bring one from home. So come on and give it try and enjoy the great outdoors with your dog. Speakers for this class are Sue Sternberg (www.animalsforadoption.org) first weekend and Lynn Olenik, shelter Manager of Humane Animal Welfare Society (www.hawspets.org), will join us the second weekend.

Silent Auction:
Back by popular demand is the silent auction! Bid on items while at camp that have been donated by our sponsors. Items include dinners, dog toys, supplies, etc. The items will be on display along with the "bid sheet." Seeing the "bid sheet" will give you the opportunity to outbid the previous bidder. Before the end of camp, all campers will submit an organization related to dogs that could benefit from the raised funds. All the submissions are put into a hat and three are drawn. Remember, the primary requirements are that the organization be dog-related and non-profit.

This is a favorite with both humans and dogs and some of our best pictures have come from the tennis ball hunt.
